honeymoon in jamaica

In Jamaica on September 5, 2009 at 10:14 pm

Palm treesTen glorious days in this tropical paradise…that’s what I did from July 4 to the 14 last year. It was amazing, even if we were staying at a Sandals resort instead of in the “real” Jamaica. We did go off the resort one time to go horseback riding in the waves. It was really fun. There were thunderstorms every afternoon with thunder and lightning and all sorts of heavy rain. And there were huge starfish in the waves, and when you picked them up they felt like they were made of rubber. Every time there was an afternoon storm, the starfish migrated in and hung out in all of our swimming areas.

Our room was a beautiful peachy color, and looked out over the pool and a bundle of palm trees. One night we had a candlelit dinner on the beach to celebrate our marriage. However, just our luck, it rained heavily that evening so we had to delay the dinner for a couple of hours. The whole trip was really, really relaxing, and it was so much fun the entire time. We got massages on the waterfront, we played giant chess with the giant chess set, we played shufflepuck on the wet pavement, and we lounged on the beach for days on end. It was wonderful! 🙂 By the time we were scheduled to leave, we were relaxed and happy and tan…it was a wonderful vacation.
